James Wesley Cummins:  

Life The Federal Census shows the Cummins clan has lived in Parker County since 1910. I am the son of Toby and Lee Cummins of the Harmony Community south of Weatherford. My father, O. N. (Toby) Cummins was born in a log cabin near the Buckner-Dennis community in 1915. I used to enjoy singing with the Mitchell's at Bethel Methodist; Listening to country, blue grass and gospel at Spring Creek; and New Years singing at the Tin Top Community Center. Entertainment has changed a bit since then... I went to T.W. Stanley, W'ford middle, and W'ford High, graduating in 1979. Harmony 4H, FFA, and NTHSRA Bull Rider. We used to have Rodeo Team meetings at the Parker County Court House. I remember pictures of the former Sheriff's that were displayed there, and thinking that I would run for sheriff one day...we'll see. Attended Harmony Baptist Church 1961-1982. Licensed to preach 1979. Went to the following colleges/universities: Weatherford College; Howard Payne University; Texas Christian University. From 1982-1989 I was in the U.S. Army(CSC, 4/23rd, 9th Infantry), Texas N'tl Guard(Det. 1, Co. G, 143d LRS), and the U. S. Marine Corps. I worked for the Tarrant Co. Sheriff Dept. 1989-1998, Parker Co. Sheriff Dept. 1999; UNTHSC Police Dept. 1999-2003. From 2003-2004 I had a reserve license with the Tarrant Co. Constable's Office. I was selected by the State Dept. as an Instructor/Monitor for the UN International Police in Kosovo, Serbia and worked as a Threat Analyst in the UN Special Operations Analysis Cell (Intelligence) Cl...Expand for more
